About the Cloud & AI Sales Specialist Role
As a Cloud & AI Sales Specialist at Microsoft Canada, you will be a pivotal business leader within our enterprise sales organisation, focusing on our most important customers in Central Canada. Your primary objective will be to advance the engagement process to achieve and exceed quarterly Azure consumption targets across Infrastructure, Data, and AI platforms within your assigned accounts. This role demands an executive presence and the ability to engage with decision-makers to drive AI transformation, coupled with an insatiable interest in how Azure cloud services can deliver digital transformation. You will lead a virtual team comprising sales, technical, and services resources to help customers realise transformation through cloud computing. This involves identifying projects, building compelling business cases, and driving the consumption project through to production. You will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, influencing their long-term strategic direction and acting as a trusted advisor, driving engagement at the CXO level with both business and technology decision makers. Your expertise will guide customers in evaluating their cloud strategy, determining approaches to application and data migration and modernisation, and recommending solutions that precisely meet their requirements. You will also be instrumental in removing roadblocks to deployment and ensuring high customer satisfaction across the entire solution lifecycle.
Driving Sales Excellence and Collaboration
This position requires a proactive approach to sales execution, bringing impactful industry insights into customer engagements to successfully close deals. You will act as a thought leader across various solution areas, advising customers across different business functions on their digital transformation journey. A key aspect of this role involves leading virtual transformational shifts to drive deployment and create significant business value for customers. Collaboration is paramount; you will orchestrate with team members to conduct personal campaigns, discover new opportunities, and generate new leads. This includes leading conversations with strategic and high-potential customers, collaborating with account teams or partners, and facilitating the Account Team Unit (ATU) and/or Specialist Team Unit (STU) to build a robust pipeline in conjunction with partners and services. You will also provide guidance on social selling and apply Microsoft's proven sales process to assess opportunity quality, educating customers on the best ways to address their needs. Furthermore, you will lead the planning and execution on opportunities, leveraging resources and partners to cross-sell and up-sell, identifying and coordinating partners and resources across diverse solution areas. Your input will be crucial for Global Partner Solutions (GPS) in developing partner strategies and connecting partner ecosystems to scale business results, ensuring a holistic approach to building networks across territories and promoting collaboration.
Qualifications for a Successful Career at Microsoft
To excel in this Cloud & AI Sales Specialist role, candidates are required to possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Security, or a related field, combined with at least six years of experience in technology-related sales or account management, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field, along with eight or more years of experience in technology-related sales or account management. Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree with twelve or more years of experience in technology-related sales or account management would also be highly valued. A minimum of six years of solution or services sales experience is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate a 200-level technical knowledge and have completed or be actively pursuing Azure 900-level certifications.
