About the Role
This posting is for a Cardiac Sonographer Talent Pool at University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto. As part of the world-class Peter Munk Cardiac Centre program, you'll contribute to providing exceptional cardiovascular care. The Centre is a major referral hub, equipped to handle even the most complex patient cases, offering an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties
- Perform ultrasound imaging procedures, as outlined in the procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment
- Operating, troubleshooting and ensuring ultrasound, echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner
- Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
- Performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
- Participating in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
What You'll Bring
To excel in this vital role within the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, candidates should possess a strong foundation of skills and experience, demonstrating a commitment to excellent patient care and contributing to the talent pool at UHN.
- Completion of a recognized post diploma Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation (C.P.I.) program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II Basic Rescuer Certification
- Minimum of two (2) years recent cardiac ultrasound experience
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Ability to function effectively in stressful situations
- Computer literacy required
- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
