Bartender - Cineplex, St. John's

Cineplex is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bartender to join The Rec Room team in St. John's. As an integral part of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional dining and entertainment experience to every guest. This role involves expertly preparing a variety of drinks, from classic cocktails to pouring wine and beer, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere at the bar. What You'll Do

As a Bartender at The Rec Room, your primary focus will be on crafting delicious drinks and ensuring guest satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following key tasks:

• Taking and accurately filling drink orders, garnishing and serving drinks, collecting payment, and operating the POS system.
• Maintaining a clean and inviting work area by cleaning up after guests, removing empty bottles and trash, replacing empty beer kegs, and washing glasses and utensils.
• Monitoring and maintaining inventory by keeping track of wines, beers, and liquors, ordering bar supplies when required, and ensuring the bar is stocked with liquor bottles, mixed drink ingredients, and other bar supplies from the storeroom.
• Maintaining a safe environment by checking guests’ identification to ensure they meet the minimum drinking age, determining when a customer has had too much alcohol, stopping service and ensuring a safe ride home is arranged, and by refusing service or even calling the police if necessary.

Skills and Experience

This Bartender role may be a perfect fit for you if you meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills to excel in a dynamic bar setting:

• You have a High-School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• Candidates must be the required age of majority or older.
• You have a minimum of 1-2 years of Bartending experience.
• You can work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Completed Bartending classes are preferred.
• Current provincial Smart Serve Certification is considered an asset.
• You have strong knowledge of various drink recipes and can adapt to guests' preferences.
• You have demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills.
• You possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
