About this opportunity
Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology are actively seeking highly motivated individuals to fill two permanent Anatomical Pathology positions. Successful candidates will be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto, with a start date of October 1, 2026, or a mutually agreed-upon date. These roles are crucial for maintaining excellence in our surgical pathology diagnostic clinical practice within the vibrant health landscape of Toronto.
- Provide excellence in surgical pathology diagnostic clinical practice.
- A subspecialty focus in Gastrointestinal Pathology is preferred, though other subspecialty areas will be considered.
- Participate in frozen section diagnosis.
- Contribute to after-hours call duties.
- Engage with the autopsy service.
- Contribute to the academic mission of the Department through collaborative research and/or undergraduate and residency teaching programs.
Requirements
To be considered for these significant roles within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, candidates must meet specific professional and academic criteria. Academic rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
- Eligible for medical licensure in the province of Ontario.
- Hold postgraduate qualifications in Anatomic, Clinical or General Pathology.
- Eligible for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology.
- Fellowship training or demonstrated subspecialty expertise/commitment is strongly preferred.
