About the Role
As an Underwriting Assistant, you will report to the Team Leader, Technical Processing, and be accountable for providing superior service in a processing role. Your responsibilities include gathering background information on new commercial business and accurately entering and organising certificates of insurance, renewals, abeyances, letters of experience, quotes, inspections, and BI&I into commercial insurance systems. You will also enter data, code off-system policies, endorsements, forms, and letters, as well as order required reports on policies such as inspections. Additionally, you will code all renewals into the policy administration system with accuracy, complete specific policy tasks like ordering loss runs and handling billing inquiries, and follow up on abeyances. This role involves working closely with regional underwriting technicians and underwriters, and assisting with general office and other duties as required.
