As a Structural Designer in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, you will play a crucial role in designing cost-effective and easy-to-install residential and commercial roof, wall, and floor systems, ensuring they conform to all relevant building codes. This position involves preparing detailed engineered drawings, layouts, and comprehensive job site packages. You will also provide essential customer service to contractors and homeowners, create accurate quotes for various structural systems, and contribute to the team by training and assisting less experienced designers.
To succeed in this role, a CET designation or an Engineering degree is preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of two years of structural or truss design experience. Essential skills include the ability to accurately read and interpret both structural and architectural drawings, along with strong attention to detail and the capability to work independently. We are looking for self-motivated individuals with effective problem-solving skills. Experience with MiTek software is considered a valuable asset, as is advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
