Our interdisciplinary team applies advanced methodologies, including Optimization, Machine Learning, Statistics, Causal Inference, and Econometrics/Economics, to derive actionable insights. We focus on developing sophisticated Statistical Models and Algorithms that drive strategic business decisions and continuously improve operations across our vast network. As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will collaborate closely with business leaders, fellow scientists, and economists, translating intricate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables. This includes the comprehensive design, development, testing, and deployment of highly scalable optimization solutions and advanced ML models. Your role is critical in deep diving into large-scale problems, enabling measurable actions on the consumer economy, and setting the standard for scientific rigour. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in Operations Research and predictive models. Extensive experience with distributed systems is highly valued, along with academic or practical background in Machine Learning and Reinforcement Learning. You will tackle intrinsically challenging problems, acquiring new expertise as needed, and skillfully decompose complex issues into straightforward, effective solutions, ensuring our learning and development never cease.
Successful candidates will bring significant experience, typically at least three years, in building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications. A PhD, or a Master's degree combined with at least five years of applied research experience, is essential for this position. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python is required, alongside prior experience conducting research in a corporate setting. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with leading modelling tools like R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, and experience with large-scale distributed systems such as Hadoop and Spark. We also value a willingness to learn and effectively apply generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, recognizing opportunities where such technology could improve products, workflows, or customer experiences.
