We are home to ambitious, passionate, and innovative world shapers. Join WSP’s BC Buildings Technology Team in Vancouver, British Columbia, as a Building Information Technologist. In this role, you will contribute to impactful IT and Security infrastructure projects that support communities, clients, and critical facilities across the region. This position offers hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Your Contributions

You will support the planning, design, and delivery of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and security infrastructure systems, including structured cabling, networks, and technology platforms. You will assist with contract administration for cabling, network, and technology systems. Your responsibilities will include preparing access control, CCTV, and intercom layouts for a range of project types. You will contribute across all project phases, from concept design through construction administration and closeout. You will implement design markups into Revit and AutoCAD drawings with accuracy and attention to detail. Additionally, you will help develop client-facing technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design narratives. Participating in technical and project meetings with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams will also be a key part of your role. You will collaborate closely with the Building Technologies team and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.

What You'll Bring

Candidates should possess a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education. You must have experience using Revit and AutoCAD in a technical design environment. The ability to interpret and review technical design and construction drawings is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for professional, client-facing deliverables. You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within project teams. Flexibility to adapt to varying project needs and work environments is also important. The ability to obtain Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) Level 2 security clearance and work in secure environments is a prerequisite. A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel to client sites is considered an asset.

The annual salary range for this role in British Columbia is $66,700 to $88,400. The final salary awarded may vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organisational needs.
