About the Opportunity

WSP is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) group in New Brunswick. This role supports industrial and mining clients across Canada, focusing on delivering impactful industrial structural engineering projects from conceptual design to construction. The successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists within our New Brunswick offices.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Structural Engineer will lead advanced analysis and design of steel and concrete structures for major industrial facilities. Responsibilities include mentoring intermediate and junior engineers and designers, and signing and sealing calculations and technical documents in accordance with provincial requirements. This role also involves performing technical reviews, validating structural models, guiding engineering decisions, and acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients. Further contributions include planning, cost estimating, risk management, service offering development, conducting key site visits, overseeing construction reviews, and supporting multidisciplinary coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Bring

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a master’s degree considered an asset. A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence in New Brunswick or Ontario is required. Applicants must have advanced experience in structural design within the industrial or mining sector, demonstrating proven expertise in steel and concrete structures and technical project management. Strong knowledge of CSA standards, building codes, and advanced structural software such as STAAD, S-Frame, or SAP2000 is essential. Experience in multidisciplinary coordination, client relations, and the ability to mentor and develop talent within the team are also important. The role requires a willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.
