What you'll do

As a Senior Project Manager, Land Development at WSP, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of communities across Edmonton and beyond. You will lead transformational residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects, ensuring they are resilient, sustainable, and built for long-term success. This position involves an all-encompassing approach to project delivery, from urban subdivisions to multi-family development, uncovering optimal solutions and delivering trusted partnership at every stage. Your impact will include:

  • Leading the full project management lifecycle for land development, municipal servicing, and linear infrastructure, from concept design through construction and post-construction acceptance. These include residential, commercial, industrial subdivisions, onsite private developments, mixed use, residential and commercial developments, collector and arterial roadways, and municipal reserve and park developments.
  • Delivering engineering solutions for subdivisions, mixed-use sites, stormwater management systems, sanitary and water servicing, roadway geometry, site grading, and utility coordination.
  • Guiding multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, technologists, and subconsultants, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with municipal, provincial, and regulatory standards.
  • Serving as the primary client partner for developers, municipalities, and agencies—building long-term relationships rooted in trust, responsiveness, and strategic insight.
  • Overseeing approval packages including technical reports, engineering drawings, planning submissions, zoning applications, and environmental documentation.
  • Leading financial stewardship of projects, including forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, contract administration, and negotiating consultant and contractor agreements.
  • Strengthening construction-phase delivery by providing RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, progress certifications, field reviews, and on-site technical problem-solving.
  • Mentoring and elevating developing professionals, supporting technical growth, project management maturity, and client-focused thinking.
  • Championing innovation and resilience—integrating LID features, green infrastructure, and sustainable design approaches across all development projects.
  • Engaging with industry networks, local governments, and development associations to strengthen WSP’s market presence and advance best practices.
  • Supporting business development, proposal writing, fee development, and client presentations to expand WSP's presence in land development across Alberta.
  • Participating in our growth in the market by developing relationships with the various project stakeholders in the land development industry. Collaboration and monitoring the industry regarding trends and changes and providing participating in industry improvement implementation.
