About the role

Canadian Tire Corporation is actively seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their Advanced Analytics and Modelling team in Toronto, ON. This crucial 2-year contract role is instrumental in supporting the development of sophisticated machine learning and other mathematical models that drive the next phase of growth across all of CTC's diverse businesses. As a key contributor, this individual will focus on critical areas such as pricing and promotional optimization, alongside the curation and optimization of loyalty incentives. The role also involves orchestrating enterprise price-value scenario engines, directly impacting the strategic execution of Canadian Tire's bold True North strategy. The successful candidate will perform in-depth data analytics to enhance customer engagement, optimize loyalty programs, and improve marketing program efficiency, ensuring that models, analytics, and insights developed directly contribute to the strategic goals of the Retail organization.

Details

The Senior Data Scientist will be deeply involved in developing a comprehensive understanding of Canadian Tire's Retail business, its Loyalty and Credit Card Customers, and various Marketing programmes. A primary responsibility involves the development, implementation, and meticulous documentation of advanced quantitative and statistical models. These models will leverage extensive retail, customer, and loyalty data to build robust solutions and generate timely insights, all aimed at executing strategic business objectives such as increasing customer engagement and improving loyalty program effectiveness. Expertise in building and deploying Machine Learning and Deep Learning models, capable of adapting to constantly evolving data and problem sets, is essential. This role demands a strong background in statistics, optimization, mathematical modelling, and machine learning, coupled with advanced proficiency in Python for analytical tasks. Experience querying and analyzing large datasets using tools like SQL and Spark, along with familiarity in optimization methods such as Linear Programming and Mixed Integer Programming, will be critical for success in this data-intensive environment. Interpreting, synthesizing, and presenting complex models and analytics to business partners will be a regular part of the role.
