Intertek is searching for a Sales Representative to join its Business Assurance team in Mississauga, Ontario. This hands-on, customer-facing role focuses on driving new business growth within the Training Services portfolio. The Sales Representative is critical in identifying, developing, and closing new training opportunities, while also redirecting system certification leads to the appropriate internal owners by territory and standard. You will be accountable for achieving revenue targets, expanding market presence, and contributing to the execution of regional sales growth strategies.
As a Sales Representative, you will proactively drive revenue by identifying, prospecting, and developing new business opportunities, fostering strong, long-term client relationships. You will build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, aligned with annual and quarterly revenue targets, and develop and execute a strategic territory plan, including accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management. Your responsibilities include managing the full sales cycle for new accounts, from prospecting and qualification through contract negotiation and execution. You will prepare and deliver accurate client quotations, proposals, service agreements, and responses to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and tenders within defined timelines. Collaboration with technical, operations, and sales leadership teams is essential to ensure scope, timelines, pricing, and customer expectations are clearly defined and met. You will achieve sales objectives, maintain updated sales plans, and submit timely monthly sales and activity reports, ensuring all customer, opportunity, and activity data is accurately maintained in the company CRM system in compliance with required metrics. Additionally, you will develop and maintain strategic partnerships with relevant industry stakeholders to strengthen brand awareness and accelerate regional growth, performing any additional sales and business development activities required to support company objectives. You will also be responsible for initial and annual recertification via competency criteria, maintaining 100% compliance with CRM and related tools, and ensuring a maximum 24-hour response time to all inquiries. Meeting quarterly performance goals as defined in your objective plan, submitting monthly reports within 72 hours of month end close, and timely and accurate submission of commissions and expenses are also key expectations.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a directly related field. You should have at least five years of successful experience in a professional sales capacity, demonstrating a proven track record of new business development and territory or individual account growth. Awareness and the ability to discuss non-technical training structures and content are essential. You must be self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities. Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to deliver high-level presentations to prospects and clients are required. The role demands effective collaboration with Sales and Operations leadership, a high degree of personal integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective listening abilities, are crucial. You should be able to promote effective working relationships at all levels and create a positive work environment. The position involves conducting business across multiple time zones with up to 50% travel. Key skills include excellent written and oral communication, including public presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Working knowledge and use of all internal processes and software, such as CRM and other web-based tools, are expected. You must be able to manage yourself and your territory independently while achieving revenue and business goals, demonstrating strong cost control and time management. Sector-specific knowledge is also required, necessitating the meeting of annual competency criteria and successful completion of requalification exams.
The salary for this position is $100,000 per year. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
