As a Research and Insights Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design, execution, and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative research across Google’s most vital Ads business and products, with a global reach. Key Responsibilities and Required Experience
This position requires a strong foundation in research and analytical methodologies, coupled with practical business acumen. You will be responsible for building robust cross-functional partnerships to identify pertinent business questions and the insights needed to propel the Google Ads marketing agenda forward. A core aspect of this role involves delivering high-quality research that consistently generates relevant and actionable insights for internal stakeholders. This includes conducting a variety of studies such as quantitative and qualitative studies, lab studies, experiments, or observational studies. Managing market and survey research vendors, writing detailed Request for Proposals (RFPs), and meticulously controlling the quality of data provided by these vendors are also key responsibilities. Furthermore, you will provide investigative thought leadership by designing and recommending new analyses, infrastructure, or experiments aimed at driving continuous improvements in the business. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a research or quantitative field, such as Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or Economics, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of three years of experience is required in designing, scoping, executing, and delivering comprehensive research and analysis projects. Additionally, three years of experience translating complex business problems into clear research questions and subsequently translating research findings and insights into actionable marketing recommendations is essential. Demonstrated experience managing research and measurement agencies is also a prerequisite for this role. Preferred qualifications include at least three years of experience with qualitative research methods and approaches, three years of experience with sampling, survey writing, and analysis of survey data, including weighting and assessing data quality. Experience with designing experiments, analysing data from experiments, and summarising findings for business stakeholders, along with proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and tools to work with large data sets, will be highly valued.
