About the Role
This is a temporary part-time Registered Nurse position within the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic (POAC) in Ambulatory Care Surgery. The role is based at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario, and is expected to last approximately eight months.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 07:30 to 15:30. The salary range for this Clinical Patient Services (CPS04.2) role is $41.15 to $58.98 per hour.
What You'll Bring
You must be a graduate of a recognised College or School of Nursing, with a Baccalaureate degree preferred. Current certification or eligibility for Certification of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required. A minimum of three to five years of acute post-operative surgical nursing care experience is essential, and experience in a Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic (POAC) is preferred.
Candidates should demonstrate consistent approachability, clinical excellence, patience, respectful interactions, and diplomacy. Highly developed critical thinking and reasoning skills are needed for problem-solving and managing emergency situations. The ability to effectively prioritize patient and family needs in conjunction with the interprofessional care team is crucial. Professional communication skills, both oral and written, are also required.
A commitment to lifelong learning and evidence of ongoing professional development is expected. Competence with Epic and computer documentation is considered an asset. Satisfactory attendance and performance are also required for this position.
