Trillium Health Partners, one of Canada's largest community-based teaching hospitals, is seeking an experienced Clinical Leader to join our Women’s & Children’s Health System. This vital part-time leadership position is based across Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, and satellite clinics, playing a crucial role in providing exceptional care within a dynamic healthcare environment. The Clinical Leader will be directly accountable for overseeing the comprehensive care of sexual assault and/or domestic violence patients and their families, driving excellence in patient safety and quality outcomes. This role demands strong clinical expertise and a commitment to fostering a supportive patient care experience. As a key leader within our hospital network, you will contribute significantly to our mission of creating a new kind of health care, focused on the well-being of people and communities. Reporting to the Coordinator, the Clinical Leader will provide essential leadership and mentorship to front-line interprofessional team members, ensuring integrated care planning and high-quality patient outcomes. This role involves coordinating, managing, organising, and prioritising daily patient care activities, alongside overseeing staff scheduling and resource utilisation for Chantel’s Place. The successful candidate will serve as a direct care provider in complex clinical situations, offering invaluable experience to the team. A significant aspect of this leadership position includes supporting, coaching, and mentoring staff, holding them accountable for effective team functioning and adherence to clinical standards. The Clinical Leader actively monitors and addresses patient and family satisfaction with care, critically evaluating and anticipating risks to both patient and staff safety within the hospital environment. This involves implementing evidence-based clinical practices to continuously improve health outcomes and enhance the overall care experience. Your ability to provide strong leadership and develop high-functioning interprofessional teams will be key to success in this role.
Beyond direct patient care oversight, this leadership role encompasses significant involvement in staff development and education. The Clinical Leader assumes responsibility for educating, mentoring, guiding, and evaluating the health care professional team, creating valuable learning opportunities through appropriate teaching strategies and technology. This includes active participation in the hiring, orientation, and performance evaluation of nursing staff and the broader interprofessional team, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a skilled and engaged workforce. The incumbent will serve as a professional role model and a catalyst for positive change, leading unit-based teams to achieve departmental goals and contributing positively to staff satisfaction within the workplace. This position requires an individual with proven experience in clinical leadership, capable of influencing change, setting strategic direction, and overseeing the implementation of plans to deliver efficient, effective, and high-quality health care services. The focus on quality and evidence-based practice is supported by a strong leadership team, ensuring excellent patient care and a continuous improvement culture within our hospital system. This includes participation in Women's and Children's Programme initiatives and hospital-wide initiatives that support the strategic direction of the organisation, and actively utilises new technology to enhance service delivery.
