Key Responsibilities and Required Expertise

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving continuous improvements for Scotiabank's QA automation regression package, significantly enhancing efficiency for each release cycle. You will collaborate closely with Scrum Masters, development, and quality assurance teams to plan and prioritize testing activities, including building new test cases and automating existing manual test cases. A core part of your role will involve maintaining and updating the existing automation package, working alongside the Production Support team to enhance the Production Regression package on Selenium through Windows Virtual Machine. Your ability to automate ad-hoc manual testing, track and troubleshoot automation software bugs, and investigate their causes will be crucial. We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field, coupled with at least three years of demonstrable experience as a QA Automation Engineer or QA Tester. Expertise in automation testing tools such as Selenium, Robot framework, Karate, and Cucumber is essential, along with experience in testing REST Services, Docker, and Jenkins. A solid understanding of build tools like Maven and Gradle, and experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process, are also key. Your strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, combined with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple, concurrent project initiatives, will ensure success in this vital software quality role.
