Role Overview
As a Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser Portfolio Administrator with Scotiabank in Toronto, you will play a crucial support role, working closely with Relationship Managers. Your primary focus will be on the effective management of the overall business portfolio, delivering exceptional client service, and executing various business development activities. This position is designed to empower Relationship Managers by handling dedicated client servicing support, allowing them to concentrate on value-added client interactions and strategic initiatives.
Beyond direct client and manager support, you will contribute to market and regional goals by striving for operational excellence. This includes continuously reviewing and enhancing processes, practices, and execution methods. You will also ensure all activities align with Scotiabank’s risk appetite and culture, adhering to governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Your Impact
In this dynamic role, your contributions will span several key areas, directly influencing client satisfaction, business growth, and operational integrity:
- Consistently deliver the desired client experience, acting as a key point of contact for clients on behalf of assigned Relationship Managers.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely, responsive, and professional manner, including executing on client cash management requests.
- Prepare routine client correspondence and ad-hoc, customized client reporting.
- Actively support the implementation of client wealth strategies through detailed and accurate management of portfolio administration tasks and activities.
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end client onboarding processes, ensuring quality and timely account opening.
- Maintain accurate client information and files, preparing for client annual reviews.
- Review processes and provide recommendations to improve the client experience, add value, and enhance efficiencies.
- Support Relationship Managers by preparing, creating, and customizing client reports, and assisting with business planning activities and events.
- Ensure a comprehensive understanding of each client’s financial needs, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives through ongoing dialogue.
- Coordinate prospecting and business development activities, supporting the execution of marketing strategies to attract and retain valuable clients.
- Liaise with internal referral sources and Scotiabank partners to ensure timely communication and resolution of relationship management needs.
- Minimize the Bank’s exposure to risk by maintaining awareness and ensuring compliance with all regulatory activities and guidelines.
- Support Relationship Managers in maintaining client portfolios in accordance with established firm strategy, utilizing Central Portfolio Models and focusing on client segmentation.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser team, fostering a positive environment and building effective working relationships.
Qualifications
We are seeking a dedicated professional with the following skills and experience to join our team:
- University Degree (Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance), College Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of industry experience.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in providing support to sales and business development activities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
- Results/Goal achievement oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined.
- Ability to execute with integrity.
- Proficiency in the completion of a Financial Plan.
- Thorough knowledge of each Scotia Wealth & SJF Business Line’s value proposition and product and service offering.
- Working knowledge of the products and services offered by Scotiabank partners to identify and refer clients as appropriate.
- CSC, industry experience, and/or Investment management knowledge is an asset.

You will be an integral part of the Scotia Jarislowsky Fraser team, working closely with Relationship Managers to support their client portfolios and business development efforts.
