In this hands-on Laboratory Technician role, you will be instrumental in the testing process from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include receiving, meticulously examining, and accurately recording inbound samples for testing. You will conduct a wide range of testing on materials and products integral to construction, such as insulation, windows, doors, wall/flooring assemblies, and roofing. This involves performing crucial material and structural testing, including tensile, compression, and flexural analyses, alongside dynamic wind and static air pressure assessments. Furthermore, you will engage in field inspection and quality testing on various construction projects, verifying results and meticulously documenting findings in line with Intertek's rigorous Quality Management System. Maintaining a neat, orderly, and safe work environment is paramount, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
To excel in this role, a university or college program in building construction, mechanical engineering, or material sciences is highly beneficial. While testing experience or a formal background in physics or mechanics is an advantage, we value candidates eager to develop their skills within our supportive network.
