The Home Depot is seeking a dedicated full-time Hardware Associate for its L'Acadie Store - 7146. As a key member of our team, you will provide fast, friendly service by actively engaging customers, assessing their needs, and offering expert assistance.

Our Sales Associates are crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction through deep department and product knowledge, providing detailed information on product features, and recommending related items to complete entire projects. You will learn to greet, engage, and thank every customer, and be prepared to provide basic service across various departments, always focused on solving customer needs and driving sales.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Customer Satisfaction by following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service, including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
• Actively seek customers throughout the store and escort customers to appropriate merchandise, regardless of department.
• Ask open-ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Promote services offered such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc., and know how to recommend them.
• Drives Sales by discussing available options (good, better, best) and suggesting related items/services outside of the department that the customer may need.
• Educate customers about the whole project.
• Utilise the empowerment program when necessary to satisfy customers.
• Execute daily stock maintenance: ensuring all products are signed, displayed, and clean.
• Builds Skills and Knowledge by maintaining knowledge of all products in the department and adjacent departments.
• Proactively seek knowledge on all products and services.
• Maintains Safety and Security by following all safety policies and procedures, and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.

Requirements

To excel in this Hardware Associate role, candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a natural customer focus. Effective communication is essential for engaging with customers and collaborating with department supervisors and other associates.

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Years of Work Experience: 1 to 2 years Retail or Trade experience is considered an asset.
• Competencies: Communicates Effectively, Customer Focus.
• Skills: Interpersonal Skills.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
• Working Conditions: This position requires working within a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. The work environment is a warehouse setting that can be dusty and noisy, with frequently open doors causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
