About the Role
Intertek is seeking a Grain Inspector (Union) to join their Agri team in Burnaby, British Columbia. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for career growth within the company. The Grain Inspector is responsible for attending vessel loading to provide incremental grading of grain, canola, and pulse crops, adhering to Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) standards. This includes performing moisture, protein, falling number, and DON testing using acceptable industry methods. The inspector will also divide samples, create composite samples for retention, and complete all required paperwork. Effective communication and collaboration with the terminal shipping department are essential. The proper utilisation and maintenance of all personal protective equipment (PPE) are also key responsibilities.
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, candidates must have experience in grain grading as per Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) standards. Strong English communication, literacy, and numeracy skills are essential. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is required. Candidates must also be able to work various shifts as needed.
Compensation
The base wage for this Grain Inspector position is between $33.53 and $41.66 per hour. Individual compensation packages are determined by a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including their skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
