A key aspect of your impact will be preparing accurate AutoCAD drawings and Revit MEP 3D models, ensuring they reflect design intent and facilitate integrated project delivery. You will apply the stringent requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial building codes, and other applicable standards, always under the expert guidance of senior engineers. Furthermore, you will assist with preparing technical specifications, schedules, and essential design calculations. Your involvement will extend to participating in site investigations and construction reviews to verify existing conditions and provide crucial support in resolving any field issues that may arise. Collaboration is vital; you will work closely with architects, mechanical designers, and other disciplines to ensure fully coordinated and clash-free designs across all project phases. To excel, candidates require a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, coupled with at least three years of experience in electrical building design. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP is essential, alongside a strong understanding of drawing standards and model coordination. A working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable provincial building codes, familiarity with lighting systems, power distribution, life safety systems, and low-voltage infrastructure, are also critical.
