Day-to-day

In this role, your impact will be seen through a range of critical engineering and design activities, ensuring the successful delivery of municipal infrastructure projects:

• Apply sound engineering judgement to the technical design and delivery of municipal water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway infrastructure.
• Prepare and review engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with municipal and provincial standards.
• Support projects through detailed design and construction administration, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct technical analysis and calculations for civil systems, including water distribution, sanitary sewers, stormwater management, and roadworks.
• Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and specialists across regional and national teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to field reviews, inspections, and coordination with contractors during construction.
• Support knowledge sharing and provide technical guidance to junior staff as part of a collaborative team environment.

What you'll bring

To excel in this Municipal Engineer/Technologist position, you will bring a combination of education, experience, and technical proficiency, particularly within Manitoba’s unique engineering environment:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or C.E.T. designation, or eligibility to obtain, is considered an asset.
• 5–8 years of hands-on technical experience in municipal infrastructure design and delivery.
• Strong technical proficiency in water supply, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and roadway design.
• Experience working within Manitoba’s municipal engineering environment, including applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Working knowledge of civil design software and tools used for municipal infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents with a high level of accuracy.
• Bilingual (French and English) communication skills are an asset.
