Your Impact and Required Experience
In this Electrical and Controls Designer position, your impact will be significant, involving the transformation of P&IDs into precise electrical drawings and specifications. You will be responsible for generating complete electrical drawing packages for approval, bid, and construction, encompassing single-line diagrams, schematics, lighting design, control panel details, and heat trace design. Your expertise will be crucial in applying engineering and construction standards to evaluate RFQs, quotations, purchase orders, and electrical contract documents, ensuring seamless integration across various disciplines. Furthermore, you will provide practical wiring details and technical guidance to support electrical contractors in the field, offering responsive support during construction to resolve issues quickly and safely. Close coordination with mechanical, process, civil, and structural teams is essential to achieve shared project goals and contribute to high-quality deliverables that keep complex projects moving forward. The ideal candidate will possess a technical diploma in electrical engineering technology or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and at least five years of hands-on experience in electrical design, preferably within consulting or EPC environments.
