We are seeking a highly motivated Co-op Student to join our team as a Data Analyst. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world data challenges and the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects. You will support your supervisor and team by performing analysis, preparing reports, conducting research, and developing data visualisations to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a temporary co-op position with a contract duration from September 2026 to April 2027, spanning eight months. The work location is Mississauga Transit at 975 Central Parkway, Mississauga. This is an on-site role requiring presence in the office five days per week, for 35 hours weekly. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.29 to $24.11.

As a Data Analyst Co-op Student, you will assist with daily operational tasks and provide analytical support to your supervisor and manager. You will perform data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that support business goals. This includes conducting research using various methodologies and consolidating findings into reports or presentations.
You will create dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Your duties also involve drafting documents, preparing reports, and tracking key metrics and project outcomes. You will provide support in customer interactions through email, phone, or in-person inquiries.
Administrative tasks such as data entry, document filing, and basic troubleshooting will also be part of your role. You may also participate in customer engagement exercises and field visits as needed, and assist in the development and implementation of internal programmes, policies, and process improvements.
To be considered for this competition, applicants must be enrolled in a recognised post-secondary co-op programme and be eligible to complete a Work Term during the specified period. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Proof of enrolment in a related programme must be uploaded when completing the application.
You must be enrolled in a post-secondary co-op programme in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of statistical methods and their practical applications. Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, SQL, or R, is required.
Familiarity with data management, databases, and data warehousing concepts is essential. Experience using data visualisation tools like Tableau or Power BI is also expected. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A demonstrated understanding of municipal government operations is considered an asset. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are important for success in this role. You should be comfortable working in a primarily office-based environment with occasional site visits.
