job description

Role Overview

The Brand, Community & Client Experience team at CIBC helps bring the bank’s purpose and culture to life through meaningful employee and community experiences. As a Consultant, Sponsorship and Community Investment, you’ll develop and deliver employee engagement programs, campaigns, and partnerships designed to build pride, strengthen our culture, and deepen CIBC's impact in the communities we serve.

This role involves leading and supporting a range of signature initiatives, including employee giving, fundraising, volunteering, recognition, and community events. You will ensure strong execution, consistent messaging, and an excellent participant experience. You’ll work closely with internal partners, executives, and external charitable organizations to build trusted relationships, identify opportunities, and support CIBC’s brand and community goals.

You will also utilize reporting, analysis, and budget tracking to measure outcomes, inform decisions, and continuously improve programs and partnerships. CIBC supports a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to manage your activities with 1-3 days per week on-site in Toronto, while other days will be remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and ongoing management of employee engagement campaigns, community initiatives, and signature events. Coordinate timelines, deliverables, budgets, and stakeholder engagement to ensure programs are delivered with consistency and operational excellence.
  • Manage programs that support employee giving, fundraising, volunteering, and recognition across the bank. Provide leadership and guidance to business partners through annual campaigns and help create simple, engaging experiences that encourage participation and pride.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, executives, vendors, and charitable partners. Identify opportunities to deepen engagement, support stewardship activities, and help manage risk while protecting and enhancing CIBC’s brand in the community.
  • Track, analyze, and report on campaign and partnership results to measure impact and support program goals. Contribute insights and reporting for sustainability, quarterly, annual, and business unit updates, while monitoring spend and supporting budget planning.
  • Respond to strategic requests from senior leaders and support community giving priorities across key focus areas. Contribute ideas and process improvements that enhance program effectiveness, operational efficiency, and the employee experience.

Who We're Looking For

  • You have relevant experience, bringing 5-7 years in employee engagement, community investment, fundraising, corporate social impact, or a related field. You understand how to manage programs and partnerships in a complex, collaborative environment.
  • You’re a strong project manager with proven experience managing multiple initiatives, balancing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality work on time and on budget. You bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to everything you do.
  • You’re a relationship builder, working effectively with a wide range of partners, including senior leaders, cross-functional teams, vendors, and external organizations. You know how to build trust, influence with confidence, and create strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • You’re analytical and results driven, using data to track outcomes, measure success, and identify opportunities to improve performance. You’re comfortable managing budgets, monitoring spend, and translating results into clear, meaningful insights.
  • You communicate with impact, possessing strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to tailor your message to different audiences across the organization. You’re confident presenting information and engaging with employees and partners at all levels.
  • Values matter to you, meaning you bring your real self to work and live CIBC's values of trust, teamwork, and accountability.
