Key responsibilities include providing front-line Help Desk support at the Tech Hub counter, where you will resolve support calls from clients and meticulously update data within the Help Desk database. You will also be required to triage assigned support calls and client inquiries at the second level, dispatching them to other specialised support teams as necessary. A significant part of this role involves the imaging and deployment of personal computers to support the PC Replacement program, as well as active participation in PC Life Cycle and IT Asset Management processes. Furthermore, the position requires the successful candidate to perform other duties as assigned, ensuring comprehensive departmental support.
On the Service Desk side, the role involves providing front-line Help Desk Call Centre telephone support, processing voicemail and email requests for assistance. You will accurately log support calls from clients, entering all appropriate information into the Help Desk database. A vital aspect of this function is keeping employees and management updated on the current status of the corporate network and enterprise applications and systems through timely web postings and email notifications. General assistance to Information Technology staff, including following up on requests for information or action, is also a required duty, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the technology division.
Skills and Qualifications Required
To be successful in this Clerical/Non-Clerical Temp I position, candidates must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary Information Technology program, demonstrating a foundational understanding of modern technology environments. Familiarity with a wide variety of software is essential, including Microsoft Windows 10 and 7, Apple OS X, and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), alongside enterprise email systems such as Microsoft Outlook. Practical hardware knowledge is also required, encompassing personal computers and peripherals like network printers, scanners, digital cameras, and mobile devices such as iPhones.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, networking principles, client/server and web-based architectures, and PC maintenance/repair is considered a valuable asset. Experience with Mobile Device Management would also provide a significant advantage.
