AI Summary
This Scotiabank role in Toronto, Ontario, is for a Bilingual Manager, Process Analysis & Transformation within International Banking. The position focuses on leading regional process analysis and driving transformation initiatives to improve efficiency. Key duties involve translating future-state processes into clear requirements and ensuring technology enables regional objectives. Top requirements include a Bachelor's degree, 5-8+ years in process analysis, and strong bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
As the Manager, IB Regional Process Analysis & Transformation at Scotiabank, you will be instrumental in leading critical process analysis and driving enterprise-level transformation initiatives across the regional International Banking division. This role necessitates close collaboration with Operations, Technology, Finance, and PMO teams to significantly improve efficiency. A core responsibility involves translating approved regional future-state processes into clear, consistent, and high-quality use cases and functional requirements, ensuring that transformation objectives are effectively enabled through technology, automation, and operational solutions across multiple countries. This includes appropriately incorporating local regulatory, operational, and system considerations.
You will provide essential support for regional process improvement and transformation initiatives, aligning them with IB and enterprise strategy. This involves conducting thorough end-to-end analysis of current-state processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Furthermore, you will translate approved regional transformation problem statements and future-state objectives into detailed process designs and requirements, supporting the definition and documentation of regional "TO BE" processes. This ensures consistency and standardization where possible, while also accommodating country-specific regulatory or operational needs. Your analysis will focus on addressing root causes and supporting scalable regional solutions.
Process Design, Automation, and Stakeholder Collaboration
A key aspect of this role involves translating approved future-state processes into clear, consistent, and high-quality use cases, functional and non-functional requirements, and comprehensive process documentation. You will partner extensively with Technology and Automation teams to ensure that solutions accurately enable the regional future-state, rather than perpetuating localized legacy practices. This includes supporting the identification and assessment of automation opportunities that align with regional priorities and validating the alignment between process design, technology solutions, and operational readiness.
You will also provide crucial support for the development of regional business cases through process analysis input, benefit identification support, and dependency and assumption documentation. This position assists in defining process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), success metrics, and baseline measurements, while also supporting the tracking of implementation readiness and adoption considerations across various countries. Proactive escalation of risks, dependencies, or misalignments that may impact regional outcomes is expected. Effective regional stakeholder collaboration is paramount, involving partnerships with IB Operations teams, Technology and Automation partners, as well as Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams. You will support governance forums by providing clear analysis, documentation, and decision support materials, acting as a regional point of coordination to ensure consistent understanding and execution of approved transformation direction.
Desired Skills and Workplace Culture
To succeed in this challenging role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, coupled with 5–8+ years of experience in Process Analysis or similar roles. Demonstrated experience translating process enhancement into system and automation requirements is essential, with a preference for experience in large, cross-functional, regulated environments. The ideal candidate will be self-starting, detail-oriented, results-oriented, and highly motivated, exhibiting excellent communication and analytical skills to independently resolve complex, multi-dimensional business, technology, and operational problems.
Strong process analysis and requirements elicitation skills are critical, alongside excellent facilitation and stakeholder management abilities. The capacity to translate complex business needs into clear, structured documentation is highly valued. Familiarity with process mapping (BPMN), user stories, and Agile or hybrid delivery models will be beneficial. Given the regional focus, strong Spanish and English written and verbal communication skills are a mandatory requirement. A high attention to detail combined with a solution-oriented mindset will enable success. Scotiabank fosters an inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and celebrates success, offering opportunities to learn from diverse industry leaders and promoting innovation and continuous learning.
