As a Bilingual Auto Claims Advisor based in Ottawa, you will play a crucial role in investigating and settling first-party automobile claims, ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Reporting to a Team Leader, you will guide customers through the First Notice of Loss process by telephone, clearly explaining next steps and policy coverage. This role operates within our service hours, which are typically between 8 am and 7 pm EST.
Your responsibilities will include promptly investigating and settling first-party automobile claims, providing courteous and fair service to all customers. You will take ownership of each call, ensuring resolution through necessary follow-up actions. This involves working collaboratively with customers and preferred vendors to determine the best resolution for claims. You will also maintain detailed file records, process claim payments within your authority, and initiate salvage and subrogation procedures as appropriate. Achieving targeted claim numbers and maintaining a high file disposition rate on a monthly basis are also key aspects of this position.
To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum high school diploma. You should possess experience in handling automobile claims, coupled with a solid understanding of relevant terminology and auto insurance policies. Previous customer service and call centre experience is considered a definite asset. Excellent keyboarding skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently are essential. We are looking for a professional, friendly, and courteous individual who can thrive under pressure while remaining calm. Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical, and full fluency in both French and English is required for this bilingual position.
