As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will join a dynamic and high-performing HR team, delivering both strategic and operational priorities related to the employee lifecycle. This 18-month contract position offers an opportunity to significantly impact the business by shaping employee experiences, managing inquiries, and supporting leadership requests. You will serve as an intermediary between the business and the extended Human Resources team, providing essential technical, transactional, and communication support to the HR Business Partner team and HR Centres of Excellence.
Your responsibilities will include actively supporting the Director - HRBP in advising leaders on people, organisation decisions, and change management efforts. You will manage day-to-day talent activities such as performance management, coaching, and graduated return-to-work programmes. A key part of your role involves resolving escalated employee relations issues, conducting effective investigations, and implementing corrective action. You will track business strategies to improve employee engagement, support HRBP initiatives as a subject matter expert on special projects like mergers and acquisitions, and develop and analyse HR metrics to identify business opportunities. Additionally, you will support the execution of talent management and succession planning activities and assist with the deployment and sustainment of HR policies and programmes.
To succeed in this role, you will possess a university degree, college diploma, or equivalent experience. A CHRP or CHRL designation, completed or in progress, is required. You bring a minimum of seven years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role, ideally within a technology or financial services environment. Your expertise spans HR practices including benefits, compensation, employment law, employee and labour relations, talent management, and learning and development.
You demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills, particularly in data analysis and resolving HR matters. Proficiency with HRIS systems and advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential. You are adept at managing multiple work streams and priorities simultaneously, capable of working independently under pressure with frequent deadlines. A strong desire for continuous improvement, dependability, proactiveness, and flexibility will be key to your success.
