Reporting to the Manager, Technology Strategy, and benefiting from daily guidance from senior leadership, you will play a crucial role as an "in-house strategy consultant." This position requires applying robust strategic thinking to address complex technology challenges and support cross-functional initiatives. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the development of integration strategy, assessing capability gaps, and evaluating emerging technology trends. You will conduct in-depth strategic analysis, leveraging a hypothesis and data-driven approach to formulate options and recommendations that will shape critical decision-making for the technology strategy team. Furthermore, you will support research and development of points of view on new technology ideas, such as AI, Cloud computing, and Quantum computing, and assist in developing and evaluating comprehensive technology strategies and roadmaps. This experience will provide valuable hands-on learning in a dynamic setting, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
For this co-op opportunity in Technology Strategy, Definity is seeking candidates currently enrolled in full-time MBA or IT-related master’s programs, ideally with prior strategy or consulting experience from a top-tier firm or an internal corporate strategy role. We value individuals with proven strategy development experience across diverse problems, including adopting new technology, refining operations, and conducting competitive assessments. A strong interest in the technology industry and a passion for continuous learning about new technology advancements are essential. Candidates should possess experience in evaluating new technology opportunities, developing implementation strategies, and assessing operating models. Strong business and technology acumen, combined with an aptitude for strategic, analytical, and critical thinking, will be vital. The ability to navigate ambiguity, independently tackle complex issues with limited information, and deliver strategic insights through powerful analytical thinking is highly regarded. Exceptional storytelling and written presentation skills, particularly in preparing impactful presentations, are also key to effectively communicating complex ideas and support decision-making. While not mandatory, prior P&C insurance industry experience is considered an asset.
