What You'll Do
In this dynamic role, you will apply your technical skills in both laboratory and field settings, contributing to the success of major infrastructure projects across Atlantic Canada. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Perform a range of field and/or laboratory tests and experiments to assess material (soil, concrete and hot mix asphalt) properties, composition, and behaviour.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- Support equipment calibration, maintenance and general housekeeping requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support sample management and safe material handling practices required for shipping, receiving, logging, handling, storage and disposal of samples.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists and technical specialists to support ongoing projects and deliver valuable insights.
- Compile and analyze experimental data using a variety of test methods and prepare clear, concise reports.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously using strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Follow WSP's Project Review, Ethics and Safety Policies while contributing to the success of major infrastructure and construction projects.

- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks.
- You enjoy a combination of fieldwork and office-based work and are comfortable travelling to various project sites as required. You aren't afraid to get your hands dirty!
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to provide a current, satisfactory driver's abstract are required, as regular travel to project sites and field locations will be necessary.
- You are a self-starter who is driven to learn and eager to engage with a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound understanding of health and safety requirements in the workplace and a strong safety-first mindset.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills, along with strong reliability, punctuality and time-management skills.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required.
