About the Role
This is a temporary part-time Administrative Services Clerk position within Nutrition and Food Services at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario. The role offers a wage range of $23.466 to $29.346 per hour and is expected to last up to 12 months. The successful candidate will work days, evenings, and weekends, supporting the patient experience through excellent food service.
What You'll Do
As an Administrative Services Clerk, you will be an integral part of a dynamic and diverse team, supporting the patient experience with excellent food service. Your responsibilities include obtaining patients’ meal choices via computer for two meals daily and working closely with the patient food services assembly team. You will provide front-line service to patients and their families, addressing food and meal requests, queries, and related concerns with tact and diplomacy.
The role involves efficiently and effectively meeting department operational timelines, processing meal tickets for meals, nourishments, and tube feedings. You will handle basic problems independently and refer issues beyond your scope to a Diet Technician or Nutrition and Food Service Team Leader, along with other assigned duties.
What You'll Bring
To succeed in this role, you should be a secondary school graduate, with post-secondary education in Nutrition being preferred. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a health care setting is required, along with knowledge of basic food and nutrition; preference will be given to those with knowledge of diet therapy. You will demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills, effectively handling issues and problem-solving with tact and diplomacy.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Computrition, Microsoft Office, and the Internet, are essential. The ability to prioritise and handle multiple demands in a fast-paced environment, proven organisational and teamwork skills, and the capacity to work independently are also key. A positive work and attendance performance is essential for this position.
