Key Responsibilities and Required Qualifications
The successful candidate for this accounting role will be responsible for a range of critical tasks that ensure the smooth operation of financial processes. Key accountabilities include managing and recording monthly incoming PA cash receipts and revenue from Marketing and Treasury, ensuring their timely and accurate allocation and clearing to properties. A significant part of the role involves facilitating the monthly PA Trucking Automation Process (TAP), which requires timely and accurate execution, along with the preparation and analysis of monthly reports for PA teams and management. Monitoring TAP cost allocation efficiencies and accuracy, as well as independently resolving any issues, is also crucial. Furthermore, the Accountant will facilitate the monthly WRAP process, ensuring the timely and accurate upload and clearing of netback prices and revenue from Marketing Accounting to PAS, while proactively monitoring efficiencies and resolving potential issues. Proactive responsibilities relating to PA AR account resolution, including timely follow-up and clearing of outstanding balances and monthly AR report preparation and analysis, are also central to this position. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with various Finance groups, including Property Accounting, PA Services, JV Accounting, Treasury, Marketing Accounting, and IS developers, is vital. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience in Canadian Natural financial applications (e.g., E1, D2, FDAP) and 1-2 years of Property Accounting experience are considered valuable assets, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting cycles and deadlines.
