Under the guidance of the EVP, Capital Projects Group, the Vice President will lead the development and deployment of a comprehensive commercial management strategy within the business unit and across Metrolinx for assigned GO Expansion projects. This includes providing leadership and oversight of material commercial decisions at all stages of the project and contract lifecycle, from development to amendment, to ensure sound and consistent commercial decision-making. A significant aspect of this role involves accountability for resolving issues of corporate significance, protecting Metrolinx’s commercial reputation, and ensuring value for money. The incumbent will effectively deal with significant commercial issues, including complex engineering and operational challenges, to ensure the successful completion of key transit projects and strategies. Collaboration with the Chief Legal Officer’s team will be essential for guidance on existing contract obligations. Candidates must demonstrate extensive experience in progressively senior project leadership roles, with a proven track record in applying commercial management methodology to multi-million-dollar projects. Expert knowledge of heavy rail transit, procurement structures, and construction contract administration, including claims management techniques, is preferred. This experience is vital to ensure the effective management of large, complex transit infrastructure projects, including those involving Canadian Class I Railways.
