Your responsibilities will encompass acting as the first line of response for all transportation and other incoming traffic, meticulously checking vehicles and visitors entering and exiting the Distribution Centre yard, and performing vehicle searches as appropriate. You will provide overall yard security through regular patrols, observation, and detailed reporting, while also performing assigned building security duties. This includes monitoring closed-circuit television systems to ensure the security of facilities and company property, confirming the security, compliance, and integrity of commercial vehicle loads, and offering support for compliance with legislated guidelines for the transportation of Dangerous Goods. Additionally, you will assist with the reconciliation of Yard Checks and trailer locates, accurately report on key security measurements through detailed report and record keeping, and communicate to support the movement of commercial vehicles in and out of shipping and receiving areas. This position requires providing needed support to other areas within the Toronto Operations sites, including transportation, vehicle control, and the dispatch office, confirming all inbound and outbound loads for seal compliance and load integrity. This is a 24/7 operation with a dedicated shift to be confirmed.
Qualifications and What You'll Bring
To succeed in this vital Security Guard position, candidates must bring a provincially issued license to work as a Security Guard in the Province of Ontario, along with a valid Driver’s License in good standing, with an abstract to be provided.
