What you'll do

In this healthcare role, your primary responsibility is to provide quality patient care within the hospital setting.

• Provide quality patient care to postpartum women, newborns and their families.

Skills and experience

To be considered for current Halton Healthcare jobs in Milton, candidates must meet specific professional and medical standards required by the organization.

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Breastfeeding certificate required.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification required.
• Perinatal Nursing Certificate an asset.
• Venipuncture and I.V. therapy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with families.
• Demonstrated ability to support the breastfeeding woman.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Additionally, the Ontario Public Hospitals Act mandates health surveillance programs. New hires must receive pre-employment medical clearance by the Health, Safety and Wellness team prior to their start date, including demonstrating compliance with immunization policies and being fully compliant with the vaccination policy.
