About the Partner Manager Role at DoorDash

As a Partner Manager at DoorDash, you will be the primary contact for some of our most valuable merchant partners. This role is crucial for driving growth and ensuring the success of local businesses on the DoorDash platform. You will directly engage with business owners, adopting an action-oriented mindset to help them achieve their goals and win. Managing your own book of business, you'll cultivate deep relationships, identify new opportunities, and provide essential support to our merchant partners.

This position involves owning the ongoing relationship with restaurant owners. You will be responsible for upselling incremental products and services to existing business owners, helping their businesses accelerate to new levels. Key activities include conducting periodic business check-ins, implementing operational improvements, troubleshooting product-related issues, recommending effective marketing strategies, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention across your accounts. Partner Managers have a broad scope, always ready to jump in and help business owners wherever and however they can. Reporting to the Manager, Regional Partner Strategy, you will play a crucial part in promoting DoorDash's suite of products through high-volume phone calls and emails, ultimately helping our partners succeed.

Key Responsibilities and Daily Activities

  • Work with businesses to establish important goals for their growth.
  • Manage merchant relationships across your assigned region, consistently working towards business goals.
  • Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques to enhance effectiveness.
  • Communicate with merchants regularly by phone and email to monitor progress and provide support towards their goals.
  • Deliver quarterly business reviews, highlighting significant wins and identifying areas for opportunity.
  • Reduce instances of churn while identifying and supporting new store expansions for existing partners.
  • Advocate internally to ensure the best solutions are found for your merchant’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal growth teams to identify optimal opportunities for merchants in your book of business to expand their sales.

  • 2+ years of successful experience in client-facing and sales roles.
  • 2+ years in a sales role, consistently exceeding performance metrics.
  • A persistent and passionate approach to sales, coupled with a dynamic personality.
  • Proven experience empathizing with customer needs and adapting strategies to meet their unique goals.
  • Comfort working effectively in a rapidly scaling startup environment.
  • A strong value for collaboration and the ability to thrive amidst ambiguity.
  • Comfort using data to tell a compelling story, with the ability to quickly navigate sales and internal tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator, Google Apps).
  • Applicable experience in increasing customer satisfaction, retention, and product adoption.
  • An ability to understand and clearly communicate complex operations processes.
  • The mindset of an owner in all tasks, striving for continuous improvement daily.
