About the Role
This full-time Health Promotion Coordinator position is with the Saskatchewan Health Authority's Mental Health and Addictions team, reporting to the Manager of Primary Health Care. Based in Swift Current Community Services, Swift Current, SK, the role primarily involves assessing health promotion needs and coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs. These programs focus on population health promotion and disease prevention within the Network, specifically addressing mental well-being and substance use and abuse. The position operates on a day shift schedule, totalling 224 hours over a six-week rotation, and requires travel. The pay band for this Health Educator - Staff role ranges from $36.518 to $44.655 per hour.
What You'll Bring
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, or Health Education. Essential competencies include critical thinking, analytical, and presentation skills. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge in health promotion and prevention strategies, population health promotion (including its relationship to health status and current research on strategies/outcomes), and community development principles. Strong facilitation, consultation, listening, and relationship-building skills are vital, alongside proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. The role requires flexibility, innovation, creativity, effective verbal and written communication, tact, diplomacy, integrity, and a reflective practice. A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for work are mandatory.
