About the role
Trillium Health Partners (THP) invites applications for an Epic Applications Advisor to join our dedicated Clinical System and Informatics (CSI) team. This vital permanent full-time position is crucial for supporting, optimising, and maintaining our Epic Health Information System (HIS) at one of Canada’s largest community-based teaching hospitals. As an Epic Advisor, you will leverage your technical expertise to enhance clinical workflows and ensure our Epic applications, including Cupid/Lumens, effectively meet the evolving needs of both clinical users and our business partners. This role plays a significant part in THP’s commitment to transforming health care through cutting-edge digital health strategies centred around Epic, delivering high-quality patient care and streamlined hospital operations.
Details
The successful candidate will be instrumental in the design, build, testing, and implementation of Epic applications, ensuring seamless alignment with critical hospital workflows. This involves analysing operational needs, configuring Epic systems, and informing workflow decisions through site visits and validation sessions. You will assist in customising, testing, and deploying new Epic features and updates, continuously evaluating releases to enhance system functionality and user experience. A key aspect of this role is troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that impact clinical users, workflows, and related application areas, requiring strong problem-solving experience. You will collaborate directly with clinical teams and business partners to understand specific operational requirements, ensuring the Epic system effectively supports patient care and administrative functions. Furthermore, you will contribute to developing training content and tip sheets, supporting end-users across Trillium Health Partners in their engagement with the Epic health information system.
Candidates must possess a minimum of one Epic Certification in any module, demonstrating foundational expertise in the Epic platform. We are seeking individuals with at least two years of hospital clinical or hospital information systems experience, coupled with one to three years of direct experience in configuring and supporting Epic systems within a healthcare setting. A strong background in EHR support, implementation, and optimisation is essential for success in this role. The ability to analyse, test, and configure complex clinical systems and troubleshoot intricate issues is paramount. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills are required to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and business partners across Trillium Health Partners. A commitment to patient and staff safety within a dynamic health care environment is fundamental, alongside the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
