As a key member of the Student Health and Wellbeing team, this physician will play a crucial part in supporting the overall wellness of the university community, ensuring students have access to essential medical services and health promotion initiatives.
Details
The successful physician will actively manage student appointments, offering both online-booked and same-day care for a diverse range of primary health concerns. This includes integrating specialised knowledge of adolescent and early adult health challenges with university-specific requirements. Beyond clinical care, the staff physician will contribute to health promotion programming, developing web-based information and delivering presentations to students, faculty, and other university staff. Collaboration is central to this role, working closely with fellow primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, and medical office assistants. The physician will also engage with various university departments, including Counselling Services and Health Promotion & Education specialists, to ensure holistic student care.

Postgraduate qualification in Family Medicine or Sports Medicine is highly preferred, alongside a minimum of three years of clinical experience. An interest in specific health areas such as mental health, sexual health, addiction medicine, or Indigenous health would be a significant asset. Experience within a post-secondary education health clinic or a community health clinic with a health promotion component is also desirable. UBC offers a competitive expected salary range of $262,017 to $327,521 per year, based on years of clinical experience, reflecting the importance of this specialized care role within the university's comprehensive services.
