As the Talent Engagement Specialist, you will play a strategic and hands-on role in shaping how current and future employees experience Metrolinx as an employer. You will help bring our Employer Value Proposition (EVP) to life through compelling content, smart campaigns, and data-driven insights, partnering closely with Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Internal Communications, Inclusion, and other teams across the organisation. This position requires a balance of creativity with analytics, autonomy with collaboration, and big-picture thinking with thoughtful execution.
This is a full-time, in-office position, five days a week, based at our downtown Toronto location. It is a two-year contract opportunity. If you understand recruiting at its core, love building human and authentic brands, and are excited by the intersection of strategy, storytelling, and analytics, this role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to Metrolinx’s success.
Key Responsibilities
You will impact internal engagement and mobility by creating and continuously optimising a comprehensive internal mobility campaign. This involves educating employees on career pathways and application processes, while driving awareness, engagement, and participation in internal growth opportunities through targeted content and communications.
Ownership of our careers presence and content will be a key focus. This includes managing and optimising careers-focused social channels such as LinkedIn and Glassdoor. You will create and publish compelling content that highlights employee stories, culture, inclusion initiatives, and milestones, alongside maintaining content calendars, monitoring sentiment, and engaging with audiences across platforms.
A core part of your role will be to build and activate our employer brand. You will support the ongoing evolution of Metrolinx’s Employer Value Proposition, translating insights into clear messaging frameworks and visual identity across all talent touchpoints. Ensuring consistent brand representation across channels, including our Applicant Tracking System and employer branding platforms, is essential.
You will also deliver recruitment marketing campaigns by building and executing omnichannel campaigns, including paid social, programmatic, and email nurtures, aligned to key hiring priorities. This involves partnering with recruiters to understand specific hiring needs, priority profiles, and candidate personas, as well as creating email campaigns and talent community communications, workflow messaging, candidate engagement, and monthly performance insights.
Data and analytics are integral to this role, requiring you to track, analyse, and report on recruitment marketing and employer brand performance. You will maintain and update business intelligence dashboards, translating insights into actionable recommendations, and prepare and present quarterly reports outlining successes, opportunities, and challenges.
What You'll Bring
Candidates should possess at least four years of relevant experience, ideally starting in recruiting or talent acquisition and evolving into employer brand, recruitment marketing, or talent engagement roles. Completion of a diploma in Human Resources, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Key capabilities include a strong understanding of the end-to-end candidate experience and the hiring lifecycle, along with proven experience in developing and executing recruitment marketing or employer brand campaigns. You should be confident working across social media, digital platforms, email campaigns, and content management systems, demonstrating a data-informed mindset by using metrics and dashboards to communicate performance stories. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills are essential, complemented by strong project management abilities to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders effectively.
