Your expertise in leveraging market intelligence and spending insights will be vital for optimizing sourcing decisions, proactively managing risk, and enhancing overall supplier performance. This role demands a forward-looking approach, applying commercial acumen to develop and execute sophisticated sourcing strategies that align seamlessly with broader business objectives. You will lead complex contract negotiation processes and manage their entire lifecycle, ensuring adherence to commercial goals, regulatory requirements, and Canadian contract law, all while adapting to evolving market conditions. Furthermore, you will apply rigorous market research and industry analysis to thoroughly evaluate potential supply partners, assess pricing structures, and identify strategic opportunities across key commodity portfolios, with a particular focus on chemicals and related categories. We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, law, or a related field from a recognized university. Candidates should bring a minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in operations, category management, and strategic sourcing. Demonstrated ability to independently initiate and develop effective strategies without prompting from the business unit is essential. Your capacity to influence business units and other stakeholders, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable effective collaboration across departments and with external vendors. Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are considered valuable assets for this role.
