A core responsibility includes leading comprehensive contract negotiation and lifecycle management, diligently ensuring compliance with commercial goals, regulatory requirements, and Canadian contract law, while also adapting to evolving market conditions. You will conduct in-depth market research and thorough supplier analysis, evaluating capabilities, assessing pricing structures, and identifying strategic opportunities across critical commodity portfolios, including chemicals and related categories. Effective management of supplier and contractor relationships will be essential to foster collaboration, enhance performance, and drive continuous value creation through diligent contract governance. Furthermore, leveraging sophisticated data analytics, spend analysis, and benchmarking will be vital to generate actionable insights, facilitating informed decision-making and fostering improved cost management practices across the entire supply chain. To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong foundation derived from a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, law, or a closely related field from a recognised university. We are looking for a professional with progressive experience in operations, category management, and strategic sourcing, demonstrating a proven ability to independently initiate and develop effective strategies without constant prompting from business units. The capacity to influence various business units and other stakeholders through excellent communication and interpersonal skills is paramount, facilitating collaborative efforts across departments and with external vendors. Professional certifications, such as a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), are considered valuable assets, further showcasing a commitment to excellence in supply chain management.
