As a core member of our team, your key accountabilities will involve exploring the market and uncovering critical insights through in-depth marketplace research and meticulous data analysis. This will directly support confident, strategic decision-making within our supply operations. You will lead competitive sourcing initiatives, issuing RFPs and RFQs, thoroughly evaluating commercial and technical responses, and presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to key stakeholders. A significant aspect of this role is to manage contracts end-to-end, encompassing everything from initial preparation and administration through amendments, change orders, and final close-out, ensuring seamless execution across the entire contract lifecycle. You will be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable decisions by developing meaningful reports, comprehensive metrics, detailed spend analyses, and insightful cost comparisons that directly inform our business strategy. Continuously optimising performance and compliance is paramount, requiring you to monitor both supplier and contract performance, proactively addressing any issues, and ensuring all contractual obligations and service level agreements are consistently met. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, fostering strong relationships to improve processes and maximise commercial outcomes and overall value for Canadian Natural and its people. This role truly emphasizes effective management of resources and relationships.
To thrive in this role, you will bring proven expertise in contract management, supported by at least five years of relevant experience alongside a university degree or equivalent post-secondary education. A commitment to professional growth is highly valued, with a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, either completed or actively pursued, considered a strong asset. Hands-on experience developing and negotiating contracts is essential, including the ability to draft terms and conditions that effectively mitigate risk and deliver significant value. Proficiency with various contract management systems is crucial for efficient oversight, compliance, and comprehensive lifecycle management of all agreements. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, are required to adeptly analyze data and communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences. Beyond technical skills, strong communication and organizational abilities are key to managing multiple priorities, collaborating seamlessly across teams, and consistently delivering results on time.
