- Develop project charters, plans and schedules, and monitor progress against established deliverables, timelines and objectives.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, changes, dependencies and resource requirements, taking action to address challenges and support successful delivery.
- Apply appropriate project management practices, quality standards and technology methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop business cases, feasibility assessments and cost-benefit analyses to support technology investment and solution decisions.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures and support effective financial management and accountability.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements, operational challenges and priorities and translate them into actionable technical requirements and solutions.
- Provide technical and business advice and recommendations to senior management, business clients and technical stakeholders.
- Communicate complex technical issues, options and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, briefings and other materials that support decision-making and provide visibility into technical initiatives, operational issues and proposed solutions.
- Negotiate and collaborate with stakeholders with differing priorities to support effective decision-making and delivery.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors and other partners.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology solutions and expertise across divisions and promote greater alignment and integration.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of technology solutions and services based on business and technical requirements.
- Support procurement and vendor activities, including the development and review of requirements, statements of work, service-level agreements and other procurement or contractual documentation.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices and assess their potential application to City technology services.
