As a Senior Manager, Business Systems Analysis & Governance in Toronto, Ontario, you will report to the Director of Retail Investments Technology. This pivotal role involves leading and managing a team of Business System Analysts, supporting the delivery of transformational, innovative, and regulatory Acquisitions and Risk-based Business initiatives. You will oversee BSA resource allocation across all projects and be accountable for building team capabilities through talent identification, recruitment, retention, mentoring, and coaching. Furthermore, you will establish governance standards and processes to ensure compliance with RBC’s Enterprise Initiative Management Policy (EIMP) and Standards (EIMS).
In this role, you will partner with Portfolio Management to grasp business strategies and support resource planning. You will ensure the quality of team deliverables and deepen knowledge of the Retail Investments business technology ecosystem. A key focus will be driving the maturation of the Requirements framework and agile delivery capabilities, including Behaviour Driven Development, within the Retail Investments Technology team. You will also be responsible for BSA team staffing through recruitment practises, fostering a shared understanding of the BSA's role, and establishing peer coaching structures to support junior BSAs. Performance management, regular coaching discussions, and transparent feedback are also essential components of this position. Additionally, you will assist the Director of Delivery in preparing senior executive reporting materials and presentations.
To succeed, you must bring proven experience as a Senior Manager, BSA, across various delivery methodologies like Agile and Iterative. This includes domain knowledge in banking or Retail Investment products, data warehousing, data models, and data integration. You should have experience coaching Business Analysts in requirements planning, analysis and documentation, requirements management, and support. Advanced knowledge and proven experience in requirements planning, prioritisation, stakeholder analysis, effort estimation, and documentation are essential. Furthermore, expertise in requirements communication, including walkthroughs, scope and change management, traceability, configuration management, and Backlog Management, is required. Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills are vital, along with familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control. You should possess knowledge of Portfolio cost management, assumptions, risk-based planning, risk assessment, status reporting, and general administration. Proficiency in Portfolio plan development, scheduling, metrics, analysis, and status reporting is also necessary. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, Mural, Figma, and MS Office applications, including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio, is expected. A strong working knowledge of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) is also a must-have. Ideally, you will hold a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Institute – Professional in Business Analysis (PMI – PBA) Certification, or a Master Certificate in Business Analysis.
