As a Senior Insurance Advisor, you will work under the guidance of an established Senior Insurance Consultant to help drive life insurance results within a growing region.

The incumbent will work with advisors across all business lines to raise awareness of these important solutions and enable advisors to introduce them to clients more consistently and effectively. This role specializes in mid-market permanent insurance sales, allowing the SIC to focus on larger, more complex cases, and acts as a steppingstone to becoming a fully commissioned SIC within a 3-to-5-year period.

Day-to-day

• Work with clients on mid-market permanent insurance sales and cases too complex for the Existing Lifestyle IC role.
• Develop and present strategies and analysis, meeting with clients and advisors to assess needs and opportunities.
• Complete documentation required to implement solutions and communicate with advisors and clients throughout the underwriting process.
• Deliver policies and support servicing of the in-force block in the assigned region.
• Ensure all business requirements and compliance standards are met or exceeded while clients receive optimal solutions in their best interests.
• Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the region with advisors and other Client Solutions colleagues within the framework of the existing SIC team.
• Drive the integration of insurance solutions into the total wealth planning process and support planners in positioning them effectively.
• Work on cases assigned by the SIC, develop new business opportunities, and manage a sales pipeline.
• Deliver educational and promotional content within the region and track leads using the Centralize platform.
• Collaborate with SWIS colleagues to ensure all clients insurance needs are met, assigning straightforward situations to the relevant Insurance Consultant.

Requirements

• Active Life Insurance License
• Extensive knowledge of the life insurance industry
• 10+ years of insurance industry experience, including permanent insurance sales
• Desirable: CFP or CLU designation or willingness to pursue them

Who you'll work with

Within Canada, this position supports Scotia Wealth Management businesses including ScotiaMcLeod, MD, Private Banking, Private Investment Counsel, Scotiatrust, Jarislowsky Fraser, and Roynat. You will work within a team supporting a region of approximately 75 to 100 advisors on average on a single SIC team, alongside support staff throughout the assigned region.
