Metrolinx's Capital Projects Group (CPG) is seeking a Senior Advisor, Commercial Management for its Rapid Transit Commercial Management team. The Senior Advisor will develop and implement comprehensive strategies, methodologies, tools, and techniques to achieve commercial management excellence and continuous improvement. This role involves developing presentations, memos, and reports based on analytical findings to support planning, strategic initiatives, and leadership decision-making. The advisor will provide guidance on contractual submissions, ensuring adherence to contractual terms, legislative requirements, and Metrolinx policies, often in collaboration with Legal Services to clarify unclear or contradictory terms. Furthermore, the role includes providing advice on governance issues, analysing project processes to identify and implement streamlined solutions for inefficiencies, and preparing and reviewing information for quality control and consistency.
Candidates should possess a degree in Business, Law, Applied Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Demonstrated experience is required in supporting contract development and administration, managing information flow, stakeholder interaction, interface risks, developing terms and conditions, quotations, negotiations, procurement, acquisitions, and dispute resolutions. Strong critical thinking skills and an aptitude for governance and process, including developing commercial templates and strategies, are considered assets. The ideal candidate will be proactive and self-starting, with excellent time-management skills and meticulous attention to detail. Project management expertise is essential for planning, organising, and coordinating resources to meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Contract Management Software (Unifier), and Visio is also necessary. Strong influencing, negotiating, and political acumen capabilities are vital for engaging with diverse stakeholders, agencies, and staff to achieve successful outcomes. Analytical skills are crucial for assessing business needs, identifying project risks, and developing recommendations for corrective action. Additionally, strong interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation communication skills are required for developing reports and presentations based on analytical findings.
