Halton Healthcare is seeking a dedicated professional for a Registered Nurse Hemodialysis position in Oakville. This role involves caring for chronic and acute hemodialysis patients within our healthcare facilities.

What you'll do

As a hemodialysis nurse, your day-to-day duties support patients through various stages of their treatment and care plan:

• Care of chronic and acute hemodialysis patients
• Patient teaching and education
• Initiation and discontinuation of dialysis
• Preparation of dialysis and preparation of dialysis machines
• Accessing venous accesses and central lines
• Monitoring of dialysis treatments and troubleshooting
• Acute dialysis in ICU
• Primary nursing follow-up of chronic patients
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

Candidates interested in pursuing Halton Healthcare careers must meet specific professional, technical, and physical criteria:

• Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support certification required at time of hire
• Preference will be given to those individuals possessing Cneph Certification
• Must have experience with acute hemodialysis
• Must be good with equipment, and possess basic computer skills
• Strong patient assessment skills and patient education skills
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must enjoy working with chronic patients
• Must have excellent problem solving skills
• Must possess excellent documentation skills
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

• Shift structure covering Monday to Sunday with days and evenings, including 8 and 10 hour shifts (0700-1500, 0700-1700, 12:30-22:30, 14:30-22:30)
