- Responsible for the overall conduct, organization, and accountability of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada’s Nephrology residency training program.
- Ensure that residents are able to achieve the competencies of Nephrology.
- Thoroughly prepare residents for their Royal College examinations and future careers as Nephrology Subspecialists.
The Program Director reports directly to the Vice-Chair, Education or their designate, and the Departmental Division Director. Additionally, accountability extends to the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education.

The Program Director for Nephrology will receive an annual stipend from the Department of Medicine in the amount of $50,000, plus HST (if applicable). This role is supported by an administrative assistant and provides access to team workspace within the Department of Medicine, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
The preferred hospital site for the Program Director’s clinical activities will be negotiated with the successful candidate, choosing from one of the fully-affiliated University sites: Sinai Health Systems, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC), St. Michael’s Hospital, or University Health Network, all located in downtown Toronto.
